General questions about probiotics
Probiotics is a common term for a family of lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus) that are extremely beneficial to human health.
Probiotics live in the gastrointestinal tract, help us digest and absorb nutrients properly, produce B vitamins and produce substances that inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria.
They also strengthen our immune system.
Factors that disrupt the balance of intestinal flora include: antibiotics used to treat various diseases, as well as antibiotic residues in meat and dairy meat products (often the drugs are given to farm animals), chlorinated and fluoridated water, prolonged stress, a diet high in sugar and simple carbohydrates (such as fast food), UV exposure, oral contraceptives, the presence of parasites in the body, and frequent constipation.
Poor intestinal microflora can be indicated by, for example: acne, eczema, other skin problems, lesions on the skin of the feet, allergies and chronic food sensitivities (e.g. lactose intolerance), bad breath and gum disease, chronic fatigue, chronic candida problems, difficulty reducing weight, reflux, frequent colds and other infections, frequent constipation or diarrhea, joint pain or inflammation, ulcer disease, trouble sleeping, increased discomfort during menstruation, increased menopausal discomfort.
Many chemicals are used to industrially grow the plants and animals we eat.
They destroy these good bacteria.
Most crops grow on soil devoid of all beneficial organisms.
Mass-produced foods are generally over-processed, a process that even includes products such as milk and bread with modified “nutrients and fillers.”
These are not only harmful to the intestinal flora, but also have no nutritional value.
However, we can heal the gut by eating natural foods that contain the bacteria we need.
Such a diet is an important part of a healthy lifestyle.
There are billions of bacteria in the human digestive tract.
Scientific studies indicate that the ratio of good to bad bacteria must be at least 85:15.
To maintain this balance, we need to provide the gut with both probiotic and prebiotic support.
Remember that not all probiotic supplements are the same.
Some that boast of having “billions” of bacteria may actually provide too many “pieces” of bacteria from one strain, causing the immune system to react to it as if it were a potential threat.
Another mistake that many consumers make is supplementing only with probiotics, without taking any prebiotics.
Prebiotics are substances that help nourish bacteria and, along with organic acids, encourage the supplemented probiotics to settle in the gut.
Prebiotics also nourish our own pre-existing probiotic strains, which are completely unique to each person.
About 70% of immune system cells are located in the gastrointestinal tract.
Probiotics support these cells by, among other things, driving out unfriendly visitors.
The gut is the first line of immune defense; to stay healthy, we need a healthy population of friendly bacteria.
We guarantee that in OMX the live bacteria will “take”: a probiotic supplement is helpful when the beneficial bacteria actually settle in the digestive tract and support the body’s ability to create its own unique probiotic strains.
The OMX supplement contains live bacteria (not freeze-dried or centrifuged) that are sure to integrate with the bacteria already living in the colon.
All probiotic supplements should be taken regularly for at least three months to get the most health benefits.
OMX Dr.Ohhira‘® provides immediate relief, alleviating the effects of heartburn and digestive discomfort.
